The Oxford Switch, part of the Professional Series, is a manual stand assist device, designed to help a person with reduced mobility, stand from a seated position and enable short distance transfers from one place to another. For added convenience, the Switch quickly and easily splits into two components for storage and onward transit. The Switch is simple and swiftly deployable thanks to its straightforward, non-powered design. It also benefits from simple servicing and maintenance needs when compared to a traditional electric stand aid.
As a rehabilitation aid, the Switch actively encourages the user to participate in the standing process, engaging core muscle groups and improving strength and function. In addition, the optional Patient Handling Belt provides additional standing support for the patient and offers grab handles and an adjustable looped strap that offer the carer a means of providing further assistance during standing.
